ERANO Software AG was founded in Switzerland in 1989. The main fields of activity were database applications for distributed locations, and vertical applications. ERANO Software AG created its own development system called Evo so as to ensure short development times and stable applications. Many years of development of Evo means that it is available for a wide variety of platforms (DOS/Windows/OS2) and ultimately leading to the “EvoWebBase” application server for Web-based applications.
In this environment Evo stands out by its integration of a script language and database due to especially easy use and short development times. EvoWebBase has been completely developed in standard C++, does not use any third-party products or libraries, and has its own database engine.
This means that it is very easy to port EvoWebBase to all current platforms and can also be used on systems with limited resources (mobile devices). EvoWebBase runs under Windows and also on Unix/Linux computers and embedded systems (WinCE, Symbian, etc.).
For ERANO Software AG the interface for any type of application is the browser. This makes it possible for the application to be accessed by any operating system, greatly reducing installation and maintenance costs.
